WORKSHOP DEPARTMENT
The department is headed by Prof. B.S. Rathod, DME, BE (Mech), AMIE (Mech) and pursuing ME in Production Engineering and having industrial & academicals experience of 27 years. He is well supported by trained & qualified technical instructors and laboratory attendants.
Manufacturing Practical |
 |
Manufacturing practical from different engineering work-trades like Welding, Fitting, Smithy, Injection Moulding, Carpentry, Pattern Making, Foundry, Machining etc are conducted in this department for the students of various disciplines. All the students of F.Y.B.Tech. Irrespective of their disciplines and the students from Mechanical Engineering from second year onwards perform the practical in this department. |
Manual Working |
 |
During this work they are exposed to different raw materials, tools, machinery, operations, measuring instrument etc. The journey of their work begins from manual working and extends up to CNC machining. To carry out this work the department is well equipped with machines like lathe, milling, drilling, grinding, shaping, welding, MIG, TIG, CNC lathe machine etc. |

Aero Modeling Workshop |
 |
Director & Faculties participated in "Aero Modeling Workshop" held at SIT campus dated 3rd & 4th April 2010 |
Workshop |
 |
Besides the academic work students work with great interest in the workshop department for preparing the working models, supporting devices for different technical & cultural events, project work etc. |
Mechanical Engineering Students' Association (MESA) |
 |
MESA was established with the view to develop personality of students. This is achieved by involving the students in arranging seminars, workshop and technical lecturers. This helps in imparting technical knowledge to the students going beyond the scope of the syllabus. In addition to this it help to improve communication skills, analytical capabilities. This is attended through conducting group discussions, elocution competition and with the help of experts in the emerging engineering field. Both these activities resulted in the following activities. Mr.Shivang Kumar is a head of MESA and Prof.B.S.Rathod is a faculty In-charge. |
