Rules For Refund of Fees

1. ACADEMIC, HOSTEL, MESS FEES & DEPOSIT(S)

A)

If the admission is cancelled before the commencement of the academic programme.

The academic, hostel, mess fees paid by the candidate, after deduction of the processing fee not more than Rs. 1000/- (Rs. One Thousand only) shall be refunded to the candidate.
The deposit(s) amount shall be refunded in full.

B)

If the admission is cancelled after commencement of the programme and if the seat consequently falling vacant has been filled by another candidate from the waiting list by the last date of admission

The academic fees, hostel fees, mess fees shall be refunded after making proportionate deductions on prorata basis.
The deposit(s) amount shall be refunded in full.

C)

If the admission is cancelled after commencement of the programme and if the seat consequently falling vacant has not been filled by another candidate from the waiting list by the last date of admission.#

No refund permissible.


# (Not applicable in case of change of institute by the student within SIU, and transfer of proportionate academic and other fees by the former institute to another SIU institute, where a student has taken admission, irrespective of whether the vacant seat in the former institute is filled-in or not.)

2. REFUND IN CASE OF NON –FULFILLMENT OF ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

A)

If the admission is cancelled in case of non fulfillment of the eligibility criteria before the last date of submission of the requisite documents.

The academic fees, hostel fees, mess fees shall be refunded after making proportionate deductions.
The deposit(s) amount shall be refunded in full.


3. TRANSFER OF FEES IN CASE OF ADMISSION TO ANOTHER CONSTITUENT OF SIU:

A)

If the candidate cancels his/her admission from one Constituent offering a pre-induction course and takes admission in another Constituent of SIU, also having a pre- induction course after commencement of the pre-induction course.

The constituent from where the candidate has cancelled the admission, shall retain 50% of the pre-induction course fee paid by the candidate and shall transfer the remaining 50% pre induction course fees to the Constituent where the candidate has taken admission. The student is not required to pay differential amount in this case.

B)

If the candidate cancels his/her admission from one Constituent and takes admission in another Constituent of SIU after commencement of the academic programme.

Proportionate amount of academic, hostel and Mess fees shall be deducted and the remaining amount shall be transferred to the transferee Constituent. The candidate shall also be required to pay differential amount of fees as applicable.
The deposit(s) amount shall be transferred in full to the transferee Constituent.


4. REFUND OF FEES IN ANY OTHER CASE:

A)

In case, admission of student is cancelled on account of disciplinary action or violation of Anti Ragging Regulations or breach of Code of Conduct or any other Rules & Regulations of the University

No refund is permissible

B)

In any other case

As decided by the Committee duly constituted by the Vice Chancellor.
