1.What are the ways through which I can secure admission for First Year BTech, 2020?
Normal Quota Admission under following categories:-
a)SITEEE Candidate: - Candidates have to first register (http://www.set-test.org/) and then appear for SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEEE) on the Saturday, 2nd May 2020.
b) JEE Main Candidate: - Candidate can register for SIT First Year admission based on their 2020 JEE Main score on the following link: https://www.sitpune.edu.in/first-year-admission-registration

2.Can I directly come for admission round without registering for the First Year admissions?
Registration is a compulsory step for First Year 2020 admissions. Without registration, candidate would not be considered for admission process.
3.Is separate registration required for SET and JEEMain ?
Yes, if candidate wishes to apply through both the scores, then they need to do a separate registration for SET and JEE/ Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination Score.
4.What is cut-off for SET entrance exam?
There is no cut off for the SET entrance exam. However cut-offs are declared only for the admission round day as who can attend it. Rest all the students who have SET score below the declared cut off have an option to either attend the admission round or directly apply for waiting list.
5.Are we going to be informed personally about the date and time of admission round?
The date and time of admission round will be informed through online, offline advertisements and postings on the website. Please refer to the website.
6.Are parents also required at the time of admission round?
It is not mandatory for parent to accompany the candidate, however if they wish to, it is advisable that any one elder person can accompany.
7.Are parents also required at the time of counseling?
Parents are not required, but one parent can accompany the candidate, if they wish to.
8.If my score is less should I come for admission round, as I have to travel from a far-off place?
The general cut-offs are informed via mail and displayed on website approximately one week prior to the admission round. If the candidate score is very less than the cut-off, then he/she can directly apply for the waiting list.
9.Should I bring all the fees at the time of admission round?
Academic fees:Yes, candidate has to bring a DD of the amount 1,50,000/-. The DD should be drawn in favour of "Symbiosis Institute of Technology",Pune, payable at Pune.
This DD is mandatory for seat allocation.
Hostel Confirmation fee:A separate Bank Demand Draft for Rs. 91,675/- (1st installment of Hostel & Mess Fees + hostel deposit (refundable)) drawn in favor of Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, payable at Pune to be deposited at the time of admission for hostel confirmation.

10.If I have some other exam or admission process at some other college, then are the parents allowed to come and confirm the admission?
To participate in the admission round, physical presence of the candidate is mandatory.
11.Is the admission round On-line?
The Admission round is not on- line. The physical presence of the candidate along with the essential documents and a DD of required amount is mandatory.
12.Is the accommodation available at the time of the admission round? What is the procedure for the same?
Candidates have to make their own stay arrangements at the time of admission round. We will however upload on the website details of accommodation available in nearby hotels etc.

14.If my ward is studying in B.Tech. First year and wants to take admission in second year at SIT, what is the procedure?
Yes, migrations are allowed at SIT as per SIU rules. You can send email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the details of subjects studied, marks secured, name of Institute and affiliated University. Migration will be possible if the subjects match.
15.If the originals are submitted at another institute, where admission is already confirmed, then in that case, with the truly attested copies, can the admission be confirmed at SIT?
Yes, please bring the proof of submission of documents along with the attested photocopies.
16.Is the bank facility available near the campus to take out the demand draft? Is the bank open on the admission round day?
It is not a full fledged bank facility. You are advised to get your demand drafts etc. made before coming for admission round. However, for emergency cases the banking facility will be available. Kindly note that all our admission rounds are on Sundays.
17.If the PCM aggregate is less than 45%, but the competitive exam score is quite good, what are the chances for admission in that case?
If the percentage in the defined subjects is less than 45% for General candidates and below 40% for Reserved candidates, admission is not possible at SIT.
18. In case we register for the waiting list along with a demand draft Rs.1,50,000/- ,how much money, is refunded if we do not get the admission?
Kindly refer to the refund rules. Refund can be taken either by physically collecting the DD from the institute or you can email your refund request to email@example.com along with the detail address on which the DD would be couriered.
19.What is the syllabus of the symbiosis entrance test for engineering?
CBSE plus 1 and plus 2 syllabus.

4.What are the activities organized for International students?
SCIE organises events from time to time for international and foreign students. Some events take place at institute level.

Not necessarily. The entire process is done online
6.Is there a different Hostel fee for International students?
No. Hostel fees are same for International students and Regular students.
7.What’s the difference between Foreign Nationals and NRI?
Foreign nationals are the ones who are a holder of non-Indian passport. Whereas NRI are Indian passport holders. NRI and Foreign Nationals are both subset of International Students.
