1.What are the ways through which I can secure admission for First Year BTech, 2021?

a) SITEEE: - Candidates have to first register (http://www.set-test.org/) and then appear for SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEEE).

b) JEE (Main): - Candidate can register for SIT First Year admission based on their 2021 JEE (Mains) score

c) Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination: - Candidate can register for SIT First Year admission based on their 2021 State Government Engineering Entrance Examination score

d) 12th PMC/V: - Candidate can register for SIT First Year admission based on their 12th PMC/V score

International Admission:-Candidates can apply under international category.
Admission of international students is done via Symbiosis Centre of International Education (http://scie.ac.in/)

2. Can I apply for the online admission round without registering for the First Year admissions?

Registration is a compulsory step for First Year 2021 admissions. Without registration, candidates will not be considered for the admission process.

3. Is separate registration required for SITEEE and JEE (Mains) / 12th PMC/V / State Govt. Engg. Entrance Exams?

If a candidate has done registration via SITEEE, and wishes to register for JEE(Mains) / 12th PMC/V / Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination based admissions also, then it's mandatory to do a separate registration via JEE(Mains)/ Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination registration link. There is no need to do a payment of 750/- as he/she has already paid institute registration fees via SITEEE.

4. What is the cut-off for SITEEE entrance exam?

There is no cut off for the SITEEE entrance exam.

5. What are the dates of admission rounds?

The dates of the admission rounds are as follows -
SITEEE Admission Rounds:
For SC/ST/DA/KM Candidates: 15th July, 2021
For General/Open Candidates: 20th July, 2021


Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination Score Based Admission Rounds:
For SC/ST/DA/KM Candidates: 2nd November onwards
For General/Open Candidates: 2nd November onwards

JEE(Mains) Score Based Admission Rounds:
For SC/ST/DA/KM Candidates: 2nd November onwards

6.Should I pay the fees at the time of admission rounds?

Academic fees: After seat allotment, candidates need to pay (1st instalment of academic fees + institute deposit (refundable)) online via Billdesk option.

Hostel fees: Hostel and Mess Fees will be collected at the time of joining the campus physically and separate instructions for the same will be sent in due course of time.

Candidates are advised to keep sufficient online banking transaction limits and balance required for this online fees payment in the stipulated time period.

7.Is the admission round Online?

Yes, the admission rounds will be conducted online.

9.If my ward is studying in B.Tech. first year and wants to take admission in second year at SIT, what is the procedure?

Yes, migrations are allowed at SIT as per SIU rules. Please send an email to lateraladmissions@sitpune.edu.in with the details of subjects studied, marks secured, name of the institute and affiliating University. Migration will be possible if the previous institute's subjects match with those at SIT.

10.If the originals are submitted at another institute, where admission is already confirmed, then in that case, with the truly attested copies, can the admission be confirmed at SIT?

Yes, please upload soft copies (readable) of the original documents in the online documents uploading portal using the registration login details.

11.If the PCM aggregate in 12th standard is less than 45%, but the competitive exam score is quite good, what are the chances for admission in that case?

If the percentage in the defined subjects is less than 45% for General candidates and below 40% for Reserved candidates, admission is not possible at SIT.

12.In case I do not get the branch of our choice, how do I apply for the waiting list of the preferred branch?

Registered candidates will be able to select their order of branch preferences during online documents uploading process. Branch seats will be allocated based on merit and seat availability. In case any candidate does not get the branch of his/her choice and does not pay for the current allotted seat, he/she will be automatically added to the waiting list of his/her higher branch preference. Candidate will be notified as and when the respective waiting list gets updated. This will be done for all admission rounds (SITEEE or JEE or Any State Government Engineering Entrance Examination or 12th PMC/V).

In case any registered candidate misses the first admission round due to any reason, he/she can apply in the second admission round.

Branch Change: The candidate can apply (online) for branch change after fees payment for the current allocated branch online.

13.How much money is refunded if I cancel the admission?

14.What is the syllabus of the symbiosis entrance test for engineering? 

CBSE Plus 1 and 2 [ Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry] syllabus.

15.Which documents do I need to upload for the online admissions?

16.What is the mode of fees payment during the admission round?

Hostel Allocation: 

Hostel allocation is available to admitted candidates when the admission fees are paid. Candidates must register for Hostel allocation and on approval, Hostel/Mess fees are also to be paid through the Billdesk.

Candidates are advised to keep sufficient online banking transaction limits and balance required for this online fees payment in the stipulated time period.

1. Can the seat be cancelled on telephone or does the candidate have to come  personally?

  38. Does the institute provide books and stationery?
  39. Students need to purchase books and stationery on their own. Bookseller will be arranged by the institute on campus. Students are advised to utilize the institute’s well-equipped library and online resources for all relevant books, journals, periodicals etc.

  40. Is there any uniform for students?
  41. The institute will arrange uniforms for all students. Uniform is compulsory for all students on specific weekdays.

  42. Is the hostel available for all first year students?
  43. Yes, the hostel facility will be available for all the first year B.Tech students

Yes, the hostel facility will be available for all the first year B.Tech students taking admissions.

2.If the admission is confirmed on the date of admission round, can we confirm the hostel  admission on the same day?

  4. First come, first-serve basis.

  5. How far is the campus from the Airport?
  6. 25 KM by car.

  7. What are the activities organized for International students?
  8. SCIE organises events from time to time for international and foreign students. Some events take place at the institute level.

  9. Do we need to be in Pune to get admission?
  10. Not necessarily. The entire process is done online

  11. Is there a different Hostel fee for International students?
  12. No, Hostel fees are the same for International students and Regular students.

  13. What’s the difference between Foreign Nationals and NRI?
  14. Foreign nationals are the ones who are a holder of the non-Indian passport. Whereas NRI is Indian passport holders. NRI and Foreign Nationals are both subsets of International Students.

  15. Which campus/ area is SIT located?

  17. I have completed my education in another country. ex. O'Level (10 class) from London and A'Level (12 class) from Bangladesh. How should I proceed?
