Industry visit to Phillips R & D center, Health care Innovation campus (HIC) on 3rd July 2019
SIT visited Phillips R&D centre. Phillips is a big player in healthcare and diversified products. Phillips has its presence across the globe and is a big MNC . The global R& D centre which drives all other Phillips centres located across the globe was in Amsterdam, Netherland now relocated at Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune.
The purpose of the visit was to understand the regulatory aspects of a health care product design since the machines directly deals with human beings, the huge weight (250 kg) of the machine and the Mechanical, Electronics, Computer and Information Technology aspects of each machine.
Industry connect team had talks with Phillips authorities for technical collaborations, MOU, Internship opportunities and support for placement. We have got several inputs for curriculum enrichment and suggestions for flexi course. The team will be working on R&D consultancy too.
