- The compiled nomination from the institute is sent to SCIE.
- The students undergo an interview.
- SCIE intimates the names of the selected students to the respective institutes.
- The international coordinators of each department get in touch with the partner university for course mapping. SCIE also guides the student regarding visa processing.
- The students join the partner university and start the course.
- Once the student finishes the course, the international coordinators get the course structure modified as per the course mapping sheet from the academic council.
- Upon return of the students and after receiving their official transcripts, the credit mapping is done by SCIE.

Semester exchange program at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Germany
Two students from Symbiosis Institute of Technology went for a semester exchange program at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Germany. The selected students are
Swayam Pendgaonkar, a student of batch 2021-25 went for Semester Abroad at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) ,Germany in 4th semester from April 2023- Sept 2023.

Vinayak Bidave, a student of batch 2020-24 went for Semester Abroad at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) ,Germany in 6th semester from April 2023- Sept 2023.

Symbiosis has formalized its international initiatives vide which the students go to the renowned universities abroad and study some courses there. This arrangement has been named as Global Immersion Programme. Courses offered by some selected partner institutes abroad have been carefully studied and own courses adjusted in such a way that a student can choose the courses of his choice which are equivalent to his normal courses at Symbiosis. Thus he can go to a university abroad for a period of one semester and the credit of the courses qualified abroad can be given to him in his normal studies. This arrangement exposes the student to global environment.
The Global Immersion programme (GIP) accords students an opportunity to study abroad for a semester, attend summer school, internships with international partners.
Semester Abroad Program
Under this program, students study one Semester at any of the following Universities abroad with mutual recognition of the credit hours arising there from. The Institute follows the Cumulative Grade Point system which gives flexibility for transfer of credits.
- Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
- Ingolstadt University, Germany
- Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis, U.S.A

SIT students participating in Semester Abroad Programme
Summer Schools
Students are encouraged to attend summer schools in foreign universities usually lasting for two to four weeks. Summer Schools give them an opportunity to gain international experience. SIT students attend the Summer School at the following institutes abroad:
- Telecom Ecole de Management, Paris, France
- Berlin School of Law and Economics, Germany
Semester Exchange Program
Students from International collaborating universities come to SIT for one semester and SIT students go to these universities for one semester. This gives opportunity to students to experience new cultures, changing their way of thinking. The University has designed programs to encourage outward mobility of students.

I am immensely grateful for the incredible opportunity to intern in Canada as a structural engineering student focusing on earthquake engineering. This experience has been transformative, providing me with hands-on exposure to cutting-edge research and practical applications in a field I am deeply passionate about.
Working in the Earthquake Engineering Lab at McMaster University has allowed me to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the field. The chance to study various failure mechanisms and structural behaviors has enriched my understanding and broadened my perspective. I have gained invaluable insights into advanced techniques and methodologies that are academically stimulating and crucial for my future career.
I am particularly thankful to Symbiosis Institute of Technology for facilitating this internship and their continuous support. The encouragement and resources provided by the university have been instrumental in helping me seize this remarkable opportunity. The knowledge and skills I have acquired here will undoubtedly enhance my B: tech project and future endeavors.
This experience has solidified my commitment to pursuing excellence in structural engineering and has inspired me to contribute to innovations in earthquake-resistant design. I am truly fortunate to have such a supportive academic environment that recognizes and nurtures the potential of its students. I would especially like to thank my dynamic HOD of the Civil Department, Dr Sayali Sandbhor, the faculty who have given me unwavering guidance, Dr Sanjay Kulkarni, Dr Sayali Apte, Dr Mugdha Khirsagar, Dr Vaishnavi Dabir, and the rest of the civil engineering department. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Symbiosis as a whole! The guidance I received from our university has been very helpful.
Thank you, Symbiosis Institute of Technology, for believing in me and empowering me to reach new heights.
