Profile
Dr. Tanveer Ahmed is an academic and a researcher in Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Legal Tech, and Fin-Tech with a proven record of building impactful research and institutional innovations. He holds a PhD in Computer Science Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Indore with Institutional and Research learning experience at various reputed international Universities across Europe and Asia. He has successfully led multiple funded projects across government, industry, and academia, with outcomes ranging from AI-driven legal research platforms to Generative AI solutions for education. His work consistently reflects a mission to harness technology for scalable transformation in higher education and society.
Previously, Dr. Ahmed has served as Dean of Student Affairs, Head of the Data Science Specialization, and Head of the Centre of Law and Computing. He has curated large-scale industry showcases, connecting academia with real-world challenges, and was recognized with multiple institutional service awards. Dr. Ahmed’s contributions extend to capacity building and mentorship. He has trained more than 1,000 faculty and students during the pandemic through national FDPs, guided two PhD graduates with three more in progress, and mentored numerous student products. He and his students have also won several national level fellowships and has won several competitions ranging from Industry hackathons, SIHs, Interuniversity Competitions and several others.
He has authored multiple high-impact publications in IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, and ACM, written international book chapters, and filed patents in applied AI. A firm believer in entrepreneurship, combined with his academic approach, sharpened his approach to applying AI and data-driven systems for efficient scaling of learning, governance, and student support in an educational setting. His philosophy is clear: technology is the key to making education more efficient, inclusive, and future-ready.
